19th Century Chinese traveling hardwood scribes desk, the legs fold away to make it easy to transport when they were traveling with a campaign sort of vibe to it, the carving is top class, the mouldings are carved to look like bamboo and it’s carved all over with mythical creatures and symbols, the desk also having two drawers in the frieze. Circa 1870 to 1900.
A super rare piece and upon doing a brief piece of research prices tend to range from £850 upto £2500 so we have priced this with a view to a super quick sale so don’t hesitate to buy.
Condition is very good, we have tried to clean it to the best of our ability. On the fold out legs section there’s a hook & loop missing but it stands fine and structurally solid, some minor age related wear and marks to be expected.
